The American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL)’s Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) acknowledges Florida engineering firms for their ground-breaking applications and intricate projects. WGI was recognized by ACEC-FL as a recipient of the Engineering Excellence Award of Honor in the category of "Special Projects" for the design and construction of the Pompano Beach, FL Fishing Pier. Pompano Pier The judges rated projects and studies on the basis of uniqueness and innovative applications; future value to the engineering profession; perception by the public; social, economic, and sustainable development considerations; complexity; and successful fulfillment of client/owners’ needs, including schedule and budget. Pompano Pier Amenities on the pier include four shade structures, electrical outlets for maintenance staff, freshwater hose bibs, a dry fire line for fire safety, and three fish gutting stations.
