As you delve into the pages of this newsletter, I'm thrilled to bring you up to speed on the remarkable achievements and exciting developments that unfolded during the first quarter of 2024. The year kicked off with remarkable momentum, largely defying expectations in both the public infrastructure and real estate markets. Building upon the successes of 2022 and 2023, we witnessed strong sales within the initial 60 days of the year, resulting in substantial growth in our contracted project backlog.
Entering 2024, we made a concerted effort to refocus our organization on our core values, with a renewed dedication to delivering exceptional quality in our plans and efficient project delivery. This commitment aligns seamlessly with our longstanding “Commit to Greatness” ethos, a cornerstone of our historic accomplishments. While organic growth and the acquisition of half a dozen companies since 2019 fueled our expansion, our leadership team felt it was essential to sharpen our focus on these principles in 2024. We are confident that this emphasis will fortify our organization and bring about positive changes that resonate with our clients, ultimately enhancing their bottom lines.
Safety also remains center stage in our priorities for 2024. Since the launch of our safety program in 2019, we achieved remarkable milestones, including recently celebrating over 1,000 days without an injury or safety incident. Our unwavering commitment to safety mirrors our core values and reflects our “Passion for People.” Every member of the WGI family plays an indispensable role in furthering a secure work environment and looking out for one another. Safety transcends a mere checklist item; it is integral to each division's business plans and intricately woven into our strategic goals. This ensures we do so responsibly as we grow and innovate, always keeping our team's well-being at the forefront.
In late December, Streamline Technologies, our wholly owned subsidiary and creator of ICPR stormwater management software, successfully launched its redesigned website under WGI's ownership. This initiative aligns with our third core value of “Be the Change You Seek.” Simultaneously, we seized the opportunity to rebrand the Streamline product suite. The renowned ICPR software package, formerly known as ICPR4, is now proudly introduced as StormWise. The innovative flood forecasting tool, previously Real-Time Flood Forecasting, is renamed FloodWise. Streamline is tirelessly expanding its client base and operations team, setting a promising course for the future. Those efforts empower engineering professionals and emergency responders with precise tools to predict, prepare for, and mitigate stormwater and flooding impacts.
