Earlier this week WGI associates presented the new Herman Massey Park design concepts to the Downtown Tampa public on behalf of our client, the City of Tampa (Parks & Recreation).
WGI was selected to provide Landscape Architecture design services for Herman Massey Park for the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation division. Herman Massey Park is an urban park located in downtown Tampa. On Monday, May 20th the first of two public meetings was held to present design concepts for the park. WGI developed two concepts, which you can see in the presentation and boards. This meeting was an opportunity for us to get feedback from the community in order to continue refining the design. We have worked closely with the City in developing these concepts and they were received well by the public last night.
In order to get feedback from the public we developed a survey that was provided to the attendees. Our GIS team, developed an online version (Story Map) of the survey using a GIS application and provided us with a QR Code and URL, which we included on our boards and survey hard copies, so that the public can review the project information and fill out the survey at their convenience.
The online survey will expire in two weeks and at that point we will review the data, which is viewable (by City and Project Staff only)through another GIS application (Dashboard) that our GIS team developed for us. We will be inputting information provided on the hard copies of the surveys into the story map as well so that all data is collected in the same place and easily accessible.
