The energy was high, the rain was relentless, and the temperatures were freezing, but nothing could stop WGI’s San Antonio team from conquering the 16th annual Rock and Roll 5K!
Drawing over 2000 participants, this iconic event, part of the Rock and Roll running series, posed challenging conditions for its final rendition in the Alamo City - And our team brought their A-game, showcasing resilience, camaraderie, and a passion for community engagement.
Building on their 5K success, WGI team members took on the full and half marathons on Sunday, demonstrating remarkable perseverance and teamwork. Their efforts reflected the group’s dedication and embodied WGI’s culture of striving for excellence in everything we do.
Whether it’s sponsoring events, participating in fundraisers, or stepping up for races like the Rock and Roll 5K, WGI is proud to make a positive impact in the communities we serve. The team’s effort at this year’s race serves as yet another testament to the company’s commitment to teamwork, resilience, and community involvement.
More Than a Race
The Rock and Roll running series has long been a hallmark of fitness events across the country, blending music, celebration, and athleticism to create an unforgettable experience. San Antonio's chapter has been a staple of the series, bringing together runners of all skill levels—from first-timers to seasoned athletes. The 5K is just one component of the weekend, which also featured a 10K, a half marathon, and a full marathon, with a total of over 12,000 participants. This year’s race carried special significance as the city prepares to launch its own race series in the coming year. The Rock and Roll series' departure adds a bittersweet note to the celebration, making this event an emotional farewell for many participants and spectators.Teamwork on the Track

With a strong contingent of 11 participants, the group embraced the challenge and braved the elements to represent WGI. For some, it was an exciting first step into the world of organized racing. For others, it was a chance to test their limits and achieve new personal goals.
