Welcome to 2025!
As we embark on a new year, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates from WGI. Following a robust 2024, we’re poised for even greater achievements in the months ahead.
Our public infrastructure sector continues to thrive, particularly in the Southeast and South-Central U.S., where we’ve seen sustained growth and an increasing project award volume. The ongoing upward trajectory of our public project backlog highlights the strength of our partnerships with government clients and the unwavering commitment of our associates.
One standout accomplishment involves our mapping of White Sands National Park in New Mexico. By deploying our innovative lidar technology, we created a detailed map of this ever-changing landscape, enabling federal agencies to uncover previously unknown archaeological features, monitor environmental changes, and develop effective conservation strategies. To learn more about this transformative work, download our white paper: Resilience Mapping and Archaeological Conservation at White Sands National Park.
In the private development sector, light industrial markets are booming, particularly data centers and warehousing hubs, driven by the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) and e-commerce. WGI is fortunate to have substantial expertise enabling us to capitalize on these trends, with a significant increase in contracted services supporting this demand.
As AI reshapes industries, high-density data centers face unique challenges, including energy demands and heat management. WGI is at the forefront, offering solutions in entitlement and site development, electric utility infrastructure coordination, and advanced cooling systems. Our MEP team recently published the widely-read white paper, Beating the Heat: Solutions for High-Density AI & Data Centers, showcasing our expertise in this evolving space.
We’d also like to recognize Pete Singhofen, founder of Streamline Technologies, who recently retired. Since its acquisition by WGI Ventures in 2022, Streamline’s flagship software StormWise (formerly ICPR), and its innovative flood-forecasting tool, FloodWise, solidified their positions as industry leaders. Pete’s vision and dedication leave an enduring legacy, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations on his remarkable career.
At WGI, we remain committed to addressing infrastructure and real estate development opportunities with sustainable, resilient, and technology-driven solutions. I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the trust our clients place in us to deliver world-class projects.
I believe 2025 holds tremendous promise, and together—with our clients, associates, and partners—we are shaping a brighter future for the communities we serve. Here’s to a successful year ahead!
